Put Down That Basket & Go Shopping With Twitter

Folks at Twitter are desperate to come up with the next new big thing following a shaky stock performance that reads -30% over the last three months of trade.

It is not that easy, though.

The More The Merrier?

As it keeps adding new features, Twitter has no intention to stop it now: from the testing of the “buy button” last fall via several other new launches, it recently announced “Products Pages and Collections” (PP&C), a new feature aimed at a tailored and informed shopping experience.

” (…) pages will feature images and video about the product alongside information such as a description, price, and an option to buy, book, or visit the website for more information,” it said on 19 June.

In short, just like Twitter’s Artificial Intelligence, PP&C stresses the importance of data collection.

Trends dictate strategy at times, and with Twitter, strategy plays an important role if the social platform is to continue to trade on its own. Either way, here are some key takeaways for search engine optimisation strategy on Twitter:

  • Say Nike is launching a new product: the optimisation of relevant tweets would be highly recommended, and should combine with a SEO analysis of hastags and tweets, which is a must — the aim is to give visibility to tweets on Google.
  • Twitter will likely use Artificial Intelligence to organise the data associated to tweets in order to target a properly identified audience with customised ads linked to its PP&C.
